Self Sports Practice at Designated Sports Facilities

For self sports practice undertaken by students at designated sports facilities, a maximum of one course hour per day (seven hours in a week) will be recorded. Self sports practice time shorter than 40 minutes will NOT be recorded.

For students who plan to accumulate course hours through self sports practice at designated sports facilities, they must be dressed in proper sports attire and be present at the sports facility during the practice period. The self sports practice records will be canceled if students are found NOT present at the sports facility or NOT dressed in appropriate sports attire during the log-in hours.

Students may record their attendance hours of self sports practice through one of the two following ways:

a)

At venues where HLTH1010 computerized recording station is installed
(S.H. Ho Sports Hall, LG4 sports facilities, Swimming Pools, Artificial-turf Soccer Pitch, UG Hall 9 Gymnasium etc.)

Log-in at the sports facility: Students must be dressed in proper sports attire and insert their student card into the card reader of the computerized recording station at the start of the self sports practice.

Log-out from the sports facility: Students must insert their student card into the card reader of the same computerized recording station IMMEDIATELY AFTER they have finished their workout or exercise.

i.   Only a maximum of one hour per day will be recorded if the students have log-in their attendance at the sports facility but forget to log-out. They will receive an e-mail to remind them to do proper log-out in subsequent self-practice hours. For students who forget to log out from the sports facility properly for the second time, NO self-practice hours will be recorded.

ii.  Under special circumstances when the computerized recording system is not in normal operation (such as breakdown of the network, power failure, etc.), students should fill out the attendance record form obtainable from the duty sports attendant at the sports facility service counters, and submit the completed form to the nearest facility service counter before leaving the facility.

b)

At venues where no HLTH1010 computerized recording station is installed
(Tennis courts and most outdoor facilities)

Students should fill out an attendance record form and drop it into a designated collection box near the facility before leaving the facility. Details include date, time and venue occupied as well as student number and signature. Blank forms are available at the various facilities.

When students have queries about their record, they may contact the Course Office at 2358-8586 or send email to hlstyle@ust.hk. You are also welcome to meet the Course Advisors at the Course Office located in Room 1013.
